William Grumitt, BA (Hons) BSc MRICS is a Chartered Surveyor and one of the founding members of Grumitt Wade Mason. Since his retirement last year, William has been working as a Consultant for the company.
Growing expertise
William completed his BSc in Building Surveying at London South Bank University – driven by his curiosity about how a building is built, and his desire to become an expert on the subject.
After graduating, William worked for The Greater London Council, London Borough of Southwark and Hyde Housing Association, in roles which covered the maintenance and property management of the housing stock.
Building a business
In 1998, William moved into private practice, working first for Allied Surveyors and then Lambor Associates before going on to found Grumitt Wade Mason with John Wade in 2003.

Family & philosophy
In his spare time, William is usually busy with his family – he has a wife and 6 children. In addition, he has recently become a Foster parent. He is a qualified yoga teacher and he is the only member of the team to have a BA (in Economic & Social History), rather than a BSc. He has a PGCE in History and is currently undertaking Italian and practicing for his Grade 5 piano exam.
